The Booie Range is home to Crane Wines and Captains Paddock Winery and Cafe.  Sample their award winning wines and enjoy a goumet platter or light lunch at their cellar doors.  Open 7 days a week you will also find wonderful homemade treasues of jams and natural body products.

To celebrate that special occasion try the 
Bell Tower Restaurant  (it's on the way to Cranes and Captain's) for a long lazy lunch.  It has the 2nd best view (next to ours!) of the area.  Sample their Booie Range spirits and liquors.  Open 6 days for lunch (closed Monday's) and dinner Friday and Saturday nights.  Bookings essential.

While you're at the Bell Tower visit Booie's newest attraction, The Old Distillery.  Pick up a special gift or try one of their 15 different flavours of fudge - all made fresh on the premises.  Also available for conferences of up to 50 people.

Closer to home visit Sunny Ridge Gardens.  For a small donation you can wander through acres of gardens and walking tracks or Relax at the Ridge on one of their afternoons of fine food and drinks whilst being entertained.  Check their website for upcoming events.


Try Kingaroy's only BYO gourmet Asian (Thai, Indian & Vietnamese) restaurant and cooking school, Burning Beats.   Why not plan a weekend and join a cooking class!  Featured in the 2004, 2005 & 2006 Courier-Mail's Good Life guide.  Advance bookings essential.
 
Drive yourself around the South Burnett or do a tour.

run regular tours to the regions wineries, the South Burnett Observatory at Maidenwell and the Bunya Mountains.

Visit
Kingaroy Cheese located in town at the historical Kingaroy Butter Factory for award winning cheese and local produce.  Sample their large range of gold medal winning cheese and Proteco cold pressed oils.  A large range of 100% chemical free oils are available including olive, avocado, apricot kernel, flaxseed, macadamia and of course peanut!  Open 7 days with free tastings. 

Indulge in a
relaxing massage in the privacy of your cottage.  Visiting massage therapist available specialising in Swedish, Remedial and Lymphatic.  $65 per hour or $120 per couple.  (Advance bookings essential)
 
Visit the Peanut Van and try their 11 different flavoured peanuts as well as plain, salted and roasted in the shell.   Best and freshest in the world.
 
Visit Bethany - Kingaroy's most famous farm and home to the Bjelke-Petersen family.  Do a tour of the property on Wednesday or Saturday for just $10 per person and enjoy an afternoon tea of their famous pumpkin scones.  Bookings essential.

And don't forget all those
country golf courses in the district.  Play a relaxing round for a fraction of the price of metropolitan courses.

If your travelling to or from Hillview via Gympie stop at The Left Bank at Kilkivan for a look or even pick up a pre arranged South Burnett Hamper full of South Burnett goumet goodies.
 
Take a day trip to the beautiful
Bunya Mountains which is only 45 minutes away.  After enjoying one of the many bush walks you must visit the Bunya Forest Gallery.  Here you will find a wonderful collection of unique pieces by local artists, fine teas, coffees and exciting bush foods to tempt the tastebuds. 

Or pack a picnic lunch and explore one of the regions inland lakes.  Both
Lake Boondooma and Bjelke Petersen have excellent facilities. 
 
Or closer to home (10 minute drive) visit Gordonbrook Dam and enjoy a leisurely walk to the bird hide
 
Looking for something really different?  Have a night out with the stars and visit the South Burnett Observatory.  Why not make a night of it and have a wood fire pizza from the nearby Maidenwell pub.
