Goomeri is known as ‘Clocktown’ because of the landmark town clock that takes pride of place in the centre of town. The clock tower was built in 1939 and unveiled in 1940. It is a memorial to the local men who died in the two major World Wars. Take a close look at the numbers on the dial or should I say letters.
The clock tower is at the junction of the Burnett Highway and Wide Bay Highway in the centre of Goomeri.
